Hi guys, really hope you can help. my oil level light came on, on thursday so i topped up with oil but the lightihg is still on, i did a search on here but seem to the confusing my self more, my car is a 2.2 cdti. thanks in advance.Rob

Could be a faulty sensor, there is a software update at the dealers for this....Under warranty I believe too

wonder if the dealer would still cover it as mine is out of warranty.can the sensor be bought from any ware other than a dealer and fitted to fix the prob or is it just down to the cars software?

Same thing happened to my 2.2 last year. Software update at the dealers sorted it straight away.

just phoned honda and booked it in for a software update unfortunately they say mine is out warranty, but its its only an hours work so will be £90. just hope it dose solve the problem lol

Can you let us know how you get on? I've just had exactly the same thing. Light came on during my drive home, I stopped and bought some oil and topped it up (it was in-between the markers on dip stick anyway, so not that low) and oil light remains on!

Mine had the opposite problem; six months ago, I switched on the ignition during an oil change before re-filling and got no low level warning, I had the software update at a dealer, just did another oil change ran the same test and still no warning. NOT happy, it will be going back next week.James
