Well I have now had the Civic for a week over 1 year and a quick report is always good so hear goes.
The car is red and is 2.2 diesel EX current mileage 46,257 three new tyres in the year. One was as a result of blowout that wrecked the tyre but provided and interesting few seconds. Current rubber is Goodyear on the front and the originals on the rear.
Its had all the normal Civic type problems fuel cap, rear dampers, door handle, poor blue tooth on the phone, the radio goes off for no reason and the phone link stopped working altogether once, still has a creaking dash board and the gas struts on the back are very poor.I have ordered some from a manufacturer as I can get what I want without paying over the odds for them.
The car still goes very well and provides good motoring at reasonable economy and is fast when required. It handles well but he rear suspension is just too hard. Carrying 4 people its almost impossible as it just crashes over every bump.
It been generally Ok and has always got me home but is currently suffering from a sensor failure. This just means the fan runs all the time as the car thinks its overheating. The sensor is on back order so who knows when it will come anyway the fan is getting plenty of excerise.
The car is still tight but the paintwork has suffered over the last year. There are chips everywhere, or it seems like that. I will not have them done yet that can come at the end of its life with me.
It uses a little oil between services but nothing to worry about.
Its been to Europe and we have seen some real 3 figure motoring in it as well. Of course it appeared to love it and just came back fo more.
The car was not the sort of car I would have bought normally, but has, in many ways been good to have. It mostly just does what it says on the tin in reasonable comfort and mostly without to much fuss.
Would I buy another, well most likely not but thats for another day until then the Civic will do me fine, well, when the sensor is sorted it will.
I think about covers it really, score out of 10 to be fair 7 I think.
