Hey Guys

Havent been on here for a while so apologies if i'm in the wrong place.. but ive come for a moan :)

I have a Type R GT on 08 plate. Bought the car March last year from Honda Solihul. A couple weeks down the line there was a whining noise coming when i lifted the clutch up to pull away. Only very quiet but i knew it was there.
Took it back to Honda where the engineer immediately agreed that it is a fault, and requires a new Clutch.. So there goes fitted clutch number 2.. Problem solved..

3/4 months later, the noises reappears. Ring Honda.. They have the car for a day and ring me telling me its all sorted... Only to find 'Apparently the Technicians say it needs bedding in', even tho it hasnt made the noises for 4 months. But my warrenty was now due to expire..

Cut a long story short. I got Honda customer services involved who eventually agreed it was ongoing fault with 5 or 6 CTR's in the whole of Europe and a part was being developed, and will be on order..

Well 2 months down the line, today i have had a new clutch and flywheel under warrenty (even tho it has expired) Picked up the car felt great another new clutch to thrape ;) (joke)..

Well driving it around tonight the gears just do not feel normal. When i slide it into second it feels very spongy, then let go and the stick bounces back towards neautral for about 3 inches. This is the same in 4th and reverse. Doesnt feel right at all.

Has anyone had any similar problems or can tell me if there gears are solid when in position.. cus you know how it is you think your mind is playing games :/ Sorry for the long whinded post...

I could go on.

Your gears definitely don't sound right. Get it straight back to the dealers bud. They should have done a test drive after fitting the new clutch but it seems they haven't.

Chippers

I know its a different car but wife had clutch replaced in Ford Fiesta. Driving it over next couple of days the gear changes got progressively worse and finally kept jumping out of gear. Eventually could only get gears 1 & 2. Called out RAC who opened an inspection cover on the gearbox and found one of the cables from the gear lever had come adrift. Just wondered if it may be a similar problem - does anyone know if the Civic gearbox is cable operated ?

Hmm...if only a handful of cars were experiencing an issue I very much doubt a new part would be in development. Clutch issues are far from unheard of (on here) with the CTR: mine's been in twice in 7000 miles but only for the pedal assembly so far.

CTR gears are very solid in place: something sounds far from right there.

Yeah sorry mate i'm not very good on here. Sounds like people have had the same problem with the noise. Not many must take it to Honda seeing as tho theve told me i'm the 6th in Europe to have this new part :S

Deffo taking it back tmorrow, gears are never right.

I believe that popping out of gear may be the gear linkage, it may not be setup correctly. They should of checked this when the clutch was installed. It shouldn't take long to correct.

Yes you are right mate.

Took the car back first thing in the morning as it got worse. The Engineer came out with the usual crap, 'You sure it wasnt like this before?'

Anyway on further inspection, the linkages / rods have come out of place?..
Anyway heres Hondas great service.. Youl be okay to drive it just take it easy weve got to book it in and speak to Technical. What a joke!
Several arguements later the next day, i managed to get them to take the car and recieved a bloody Honda Jazz.

Never known service like it. AVONDALE HONDA SOLIHUL
