Been to Stealers today to claim on warranty for paint peeling off on drivers side sill. Noticed a small stone chip when I was cleaning the car, but the primer was still intact so I left it with the intention of touching it up the following weekend. Following weekend comes and the small stone chip has evolved into the size of a five pence with edges of the paint raised and peeling off. Thought it would be just a case of taking it into the stealers and letting them have a look and then booking it in for repair. But no! Photo's 1st then send off to honda UK then wait for the decision. I wouldn't mind but a piece of the paint actually flaked off when the bodyshop engineer touched it while examining it. To top it off nicely, on the way back home going down the motorway I heard something hit the bonnet. On inspection when i got home, I now have a nice large size ding in the bonnet with 6mm paint chip which has taken out the primer as well. Adding insult to injury... on lifting up the bonnet I find the dent is directly behind a bulk head on the bonnet and wont be able to be pushed back out!!! [smilie=sad.gif]

sympathies.. the paint is a joke.. though an old and laboured one. They really need to sort it out.

Does it matter that the paint surface is damaged when poping the dents? dont want to end up with no paint at all left on the bonnet. Has any one else had paint peeling away on the plastic sills as if the paint hasn't adhered to the primer properly? :dontknow:

They are destructive (weld/tap) repairs.....only way to pop the dent without getting behind it.
Speak to some dent guys....they probably have new toys available now.

Well that was a pleasant surprise! Got a phone call from the stealers yesterday saying that HUK had approved the claim. The dealer said they could get it done for me at 3pm today (Thursday) and low and behold it's done. Considering I only spotted the problem on Sunday, took it for inspection on Monday and had it fixed along with the Type-R recall check on Thursday. I think that was pretty good going. So Thank You to Barnsley Honda for sorting it out so quickly. Of course I've still got the dent in the bonnet to sort out for my troubles.
