Hi all,I have decided to do some performance mods to my CTR at last & have been in touch with CPL racing. I am considering the following:

CPL's supercharger kit
CPL's exhaust manifold
Invidia exhaust
Hondata Flashpro
Dyno tuning

I am really just wondering if anyone has any advice or has had any problems with this setup or has any better ideas?? particularly any problems no matter how small. It's not going to be cheap so i thought id try having a chat on here first before i empty the wallet!

first thought for me is are your brakes/suspension etc all standard at the moment? Do you have an lsd?
Hi bud,you are going to need a LSD & I would get a competition clutch ;) take it from me bud I know ! Too much power is lost without LSD ? That's why I am back to tdi for wavetrec & stage 4 clutch ;) but you will have plenty of fun if you get charged up ;-) have you thought about rotrex supercharger ? Also if you havnt done brakes you will need them too & as said before ontop of all this a good suspension setup ;-)
Hi guys, thank you for your help,I have ebc sports discs with red stuff all round, no LSD and suspension is standard. I suspect the clutch won't last too long so was thinking il get some cash together and do the LSD and clutch in the near future. I have seen the rotrex charger too but don't know what one is best,I just thought cpl seems to know what they are doing and have the fastest civic in Europe? No I haven't looked at turbo kit at all but I will have a look into it now. The problem is I don't know anyone with either charger or the turbo so i have nothing to go on.
Bestr bet is to get to a meet if you can and try get a ride in one - most people enjoy showing off a bit and are happy to give you a ride! :D

rotrex/ct charger etc i mean..
Hi bud tdi have the fastestcharged car now & it's a rotrex charger ;)& it can be upgraded to well over 400bhp & it is oem quiet so it is stealthy with no whine ? Plus you can add intercooler with rotrex & as far as I know only a charge cooler for the other chargers ? Someone will correct me if I am wrong ? But I have rotrex & it is great ;) so much so it's going back so I can get the intercooler fitted & more power ;-) contact tdi north speak to Paul & weigh up all options befor you decide ;)

desicion made! going for the rotrex setup i mentioned. i think 300bhp ish will be plenty for me! (im not exactly lewis hamilton) plus i still enjoy driving the car as standard so this should keep me happy for a long time.

im sure the rotrex is perfectly good but i think the jackson charger looks better & im not bothered about the whine at all. ;) as for the turbo it looks like it would be great but i just fancy a supercharger!

also the service so far from cpl racing has been excellent.im reckon the other companies iv contacted would be fine but i just have a good feeling about cpl and the effort they have put in to help me decide.

just need to get a date sorted now as i work abroad & the fun can begin!
I dont quite remember but do you get the CPL CAI aswell in the SC package?
If not you can unleash some more ponies with an intake.

Apart from that... just what everyone else is saying

LSD + Clutch

The induction side makes no or little difference ? As all the cold air you need is getting there from the charger ;) & you don't get the roar anymore from the induction as the power is smoothed out in the mapping ? So you don't get the roar in vetch anymore ? But you get a right kick when you plant your footdown though ;-) just 1 more thing I have put my standard air box back with a drop in filter & cold air feed to the front air scoops ;) whatever you decide good luck with the motor ;)

I believe dezi boy gained 20hp changing from Gruppe M to HKS RSK. He then later installed the mugen IIRC?!

So yea induction can do alot.
Well if you ask leepie he has standard air box with drop in filter on & his is 360bhp & I have asked Paul & he says it is fine with a drop in filter that is why I put mine back ? & mugen is closed air box with cold air feed just like mine ? & I don't think you will get 20bhp from an induction on a charger ?? As the charger gives the power ? Someone correct me if I am wrong ;) this IMO ;-)

Ask paul he will tell you. There was one guy with one of the first SC and he gained 20hp from changing his gruppe M to HKS RSK. Dont forget if the SC doesnt get the air it needs due to a restrictive airbox then it wont produce the power.

360 Wont that be the Rotrex charger? I believe the charger im on about is other one :D
Yes mate that's the one it's the same as mine ;) that's why it's not really needed for my set up ;) mine will be hitting the same when I am back down tdi north in a few weeks ;) the cpl is wasted on mine & if I was going to get 20bhp more I would keep it ;) but its only minimal gains on my setup ;) I have spoke to Paul & if it was going to make a big difference he would of told me to keep it on ? But he says it will be just as good with the drop in filter & cold air feed from the bumper scoops ;)

hi guys, yes the cpl intake is included with the supercharger, this is what they have recommended so i am happy with that.

the lsd & clutch is on the cards, might not manage it all at once but in the very near future it will be done.

thanks for your opinions/advice etc. i will let you know how i get on when its all done.

We'll CPL suggesting their own intake... are you surprised?

but its a good intake and will do the job just fine.

Are you going rotrex then?
yeah im not surprised they suggested their own but its a lot cheaper than some others and other people with the same set up are quite happy with it.
no jackson charger, sorry i just noticed i said rotrex in my previous post.

Nice mate! Wavetrac is excellent although I've not tried others to compare.
