Car just threw up a P0420 code on the way home so I've cleared it using my scanguage. In the couple of months I've had the car this is the first issue. The car has been decatted by the previous owner so I assume that's why it threw up the code but why would it do it now? Ideally I need to remap it or get hold of a cat...

Anyone got any thoughts?

P0420? Been anywhere near the netherlands recently? :p

A quick google yields the following; https://www.obd-codes.com/p0420

As expected, It is down to the catalyst. In essence, the sensors are seeing the gasses as the same in front of and behind the catylitic converter (Or where it should be)

Either do the environment a favour, and pop in a cat (Meow) or as you're also said - Find a specialist that can map it out.

Ha ha I wish mate!

Anyway....at the moment I think it'll be easier for me to find a cat and put it back in. How is the exhaust on the Civic though? Is the cat part of a down pipe and separate from the manifold?

If it's an FN2 it is separate from and between the manifold and the B-Pipe

Yes mate, it's an fn2. Forgive my ignorance but is the b pipe the centre section you mean?

Cheers mate. I'm thinking I'll just put the cat back in and keep the decat for now until I can find a flashpro to map out the cat. How much do you think I should pay for a cat? I found one on eBay off a car with 120k on it which I thought was high mileage so wasn't confident on the condition of the cat. They wanted £130 posted.

Not sure to be honest, but that price sounds about the right area for secondhand.

Cool well I'll hunt around for one off a lower mileage car. Fitting my short shifter at the moment
