hi all , met someone who got the grey plastics colour coded to the rest of the car ( 08 type s ), it looked smart but he said he wouldnt advise it as the paint cracks on them all even the type r which was done in the factory... has he just been unlucky or is this going to happen to mine if i get it done ??? dont want to spend 400 if its going to look a mess in 12 months cheers for any advice

he said it was nowt to do with the paint job but to do with the way the chasis bends ? he sounded like he knew what he was talking about.....maybe he just had a bad spray job
Mine has cracked but mine wash terrible job. Not primed or sanded.

Pay the extra get it done properly and you won't have a problem

cheers for your help, clever cloggs put me off but now have faith again, will get it booked in tomorrow....glad we have a site like this to help us out, thanks all

not sure, going to try a few differnt ones tomorrow starting with bennets in ayr and ayrshire accident repairs in irvine.
I wouldn't listen to your mate.

As a few others have said if it's prepped properly and plastic primer is used it will be fine.

Stripping the trims off yourself will save a few quid on labour bud.

I served my apprenticeship with Bennets, a few years ago now but the owner is a stickler for quality, if your going to Ayrshire accident repair centre maybe nip up to Bridgend in Kilwinning for a quote since your in that neck of the woods.
I worked there aswell and they turn out good jobs. (after I left. Lol)

yeah , thats the whole lot... cant be arsed stripping it myself to be honest, although i feel a bit of an expert after fitting the new grill and taking the back bumper off to remove the towbar, then again maybe i should of priced it stripped, will get another couple of prices tomorrow, cheers
