Today I had the afternoon to myself so after watching a few episodes of Family Guy, American Dad and Scrubs I got off my bum and decided to dedicate some time to my CTR.

I had planned to tidy up the alloys by giving them a good cleaning and also re-painting my brake calipers, as they were looking a little tired. Also thought I would give a shot at painting the Type and R different colours.

So onto some pics....

Starting off with a fairly dirty wheel and brakes (although you can't see).

So off with the wheel!

Looking a little jaded and tired so had to clean it up first (no photos) and give it a base layer of paint. While that was drying took the time to clean the wheel:

Then another layer of red before chancing my luck on trying to do the Type in Black... why is it you have a stable hand right up until the moment you touch what you are painting?! Anyway:

Content enough with that I though may as well do the R in white:

I actually wasn't that happy with that, and may still clear over it with black in the future.

Return the wheel:

And lower the car again!

That actually took a little longer that I expected (I blame cleaning the wheel) so I will have to do the other one tomorrow. I will also take a shot from distance with the car back down to give some perspective.

Looks awsome J_H, 100% better than OEM look... what paint did you use? Hammerite?

Just finished mine last week... Took 3 coats of Hammerite smooth and I cheated with the lettering as I used a 'Honda' caliper decal from Ebay! :p

Thanks Andy, yeah I used the same although with the hand painting lettering!

Thanks! I'm surprised that the wife likes it as well, she was a doubter beforehand.

Edit: The photos are sideways so people may need to rotate their monitor, as editing them all is probably more hassle than it is worth!

Looks great, whenever I look at one of these threads I think ' I must go do that myself this weekend'

Where did you get the paint? I like you want to use red black and white, but I don't want to spend 20 quid on each different colour.

Do you want to come borrow mine?! I had the black for doing some metal work a while back, the red from last year when I did the calipers originally and the white I took some from a neighbour after finding out.

I'm off work all this week so if you are interested I have absolutely no problem you using the paint at my place, I'll give you a hand as well!

Yeah lol. Well they were the right way up and then they were transferred by bluetooth which messed it up. If I get bored in the future I may correct it...

The rears are so small, I don't want (read can't be bothered) to do them. I'm not sure they look that good on the CTR. I've seen someone who has de-rusted and cleaned up the edges of the brake disks and then sealed them to prevent them rusting up again - and I'm thinking about that.

Do you recommend a particular APC?

I'll be getting some Iron X and Opti-Seal soon as there were some stubborn tar spots that hadn't come off the inside of the wheels, and in the future I want them properly sealed to try to make rinsing off the brake dust easier.

100% yes, saves your elbow grease ;)
I used a similar attachment for my cordless drill.

I used Halfords caliper paint but you can use any high temp paint.
