Very Bored at work so i've been having a look around ebay. Came accross a Pipercross panel filter for £30. They are claiming upto 30% increase in air flow, better throttle response and improved econemy.

Has anyone bought one of these and actually noticed any difference

We had one developed for the Accord in partnership with Pipercross. Personally I found that it lost some of the low down grunt but helped with better revving through the range.. I wouldn't agree with 30% increase in air flow, far from it really..

I think Relic did a load of testing on aftermarket filters vs Honda oem filter and I think he deduced that the OEM filter was the best for this car.

i noticed a difference my car sounded more like a tractor then ever..... come to sunderland and ill give you my old one free. they flow less air than the standard honda filter!

Are there no breathing modifications for the 2.2 ctdi then. Best to stick with standard?

How about a ram duct? or is the OEM ram good enough, I've seen a few using there fog lights spaces as ram ducts?

Relic has spent many many man hours trying to find that out, with no real joy, honda just did a very good job on the derv air intake

So when people make 197 bhp (like yourself Ash) all you have done is a remap and I'm guessing a new clutch

Yup just a remap + No i have the standard revised honda clutch (holds solid)
