Ok, so after going though a lot of threads on here I'm going to get myself a Parrot 9200. I'm not too keen on fitting it myself so I've had a quick look around locally today. I got two quotes and wondered what you guys made of them.
First was from Halfords...£169.99 for the gear, £19.99 for fitting (don't trust them too much but maybe better than me doing it.)
The other was from a specialist place...£320 for the gear and having it fully fitted.
Obviously thats quite a difference. I asked the girl at the specialists why that was so and she made a comment about the fact that they hard wire it to the speakers whereas Halfords simply fit it. To me that makes NO sense, surely they have to hook them up in the same way in order for them to work?

If any one has any idea or experience with this I'd love to hear it. You could save me a lot of cash or a badly fitted system!

That's a load of BS. The Parrot requires "hard-wiring" to the speakers, that's obvious and it's also what Halfords would do.

Assuming they don't do any damage, £20 to fit is a bargain since it took me 4 hours when I did it myself. The only thing is that the dashboard disassembly takes ages and you have to know how to do it on the civic otherwise you'd break something.

Halfords fitted the same kit in my friend's Fabia for £20 and they did a really good job. But the civic is a lot harder I think.

I reckon I'd have a chat with the guys in Halfords. See if they know what they're talking about re: disassembling the fascias and if they do, go for it!

Doesnt need to be hard wired you can buy an sot lead.

I have heard that sometimes halfords sub con fitting work out to different companies so you might et a proffesional install for £20

I done mine myself and was easy enough following the how 2 on here

I might be buying the mki9200 for my wife car (a suzuki swift which we have yet to buy!). Was looking on eBay and the best price is 299.99 fitted for this unit and the steering well unika control unit.
