291.2bhp and 194.7ftlb torque revving to over 9000 and still climbing. (Restricted by oil pump now or we would rev it higher)
This should go very well!
Got more cams to try but already run the CW race cams and now this is on Toda A3s.
Motor is a K20 block with 89mm pistons, stock crank and uprated valvesprings with stock valves. Skunk2 intake manifold ported and flowed to the head with a big cold air intake with velocity stack with relocated battery. Toda manifold and our 3" exhaust. Its running BP 97 fuel, Compression is around 12:1 and we could try some race fuel later but its looking good.

Just checked and its 24'C in workshop at the moment as well.

All work carried out by us at TDi North apart from blockwork.

Nicked my idea for a 2140 oversquare motor I see... ;)

We have options to use race fuel so that would go well. Really prefer to stick to pump fuel though due to cost, availability and stability but certainly something we will more likely do for final round at Brands.

It's very nice of you to do this extra work for me while it's in the workshop! ;)

Srsly tho, that's an excellent result for NA. Great work :)

Didn't you have a 300bhp NA EP3? Is the EP3 easier to get to 300?

The EP3's have had megga amounts more spent on them. One has a £3500 set of ITB's but motor is pretty much the same. The other is a very highly specd K24 build with very HC special pistons and Skunk2 stage 3 head again costing big £££.

Am sure we will be over 300 with right cam combination and fuel though but for us its not about peak numbers its the power deliver as its a circuit car build.

It is an impressive torque figure. I don't remember seeing anything much over 190lbft NA before.

Both the "300" cars we have built have been 190 or above and the ones we tuned for the BuddyClub race car was over 200ftlb but that was also with a stroker crank.

We could get more if we went to 90mm pistons but they keep blowing head gaskets due to thin wall thickness and not much to seal against but you would only go that size on a full race motor and be swapping gaskets after every event

Hard to say until.we have a lot more miles on it but it should be fine. I specifically held off going 90mm as I know that's not very reliable due to the piston to piston seal gap on the head gasket being so small. Going 89mm gives a bit more surface to seal on and even companies like ERL are happy to sell motors at similar spec so fingers crossed.

Full build your looking at about £6k for the motor alone.

Has anyone found a way to get ITB's working with the FN2's FBW throttle yet? That is; without having a fixed idle speed.
