Updating the Honda/Alpine OEM Premium Audio Gracenote database.

1) Obtain the latest Gracenote database: NAVTEQ - Maps for your Navigation System

2) Unzip the downloaded file. (Examples attached)

3) Burn to CDR as Mode 1 ISO9660 Joliet exactly as per the unzipped file structure. (ImgBurn example attached).

4) Turn on car audio and select HDD, then HDD Settings. [ Turn off TA ]
Note: The advice is also to start your engine to avoid battery problems.

5) Put the CDR in the audio slot. Ignore the I-mid display and wait for the main display to remove the "Reading..." message

6) Press the 'Update' button and wait ................

7) After 10 or 11 minutes you will get a completed message.
Note: The Gracenote displayed version does not update until you exit and re-enter the HDD Settings screen.

Latest version (as of 09/07/2015):

Current Vehicles Supported: Europe/Russia: Honda Civic 12MY - 14MY and CR-V 13MY - 14MY
Database Version Number: 6565 Database File Name: Honda_AL_EU_Nov2014_V3.ZIP
Next Available Update: April, 2015

Did mine yesterday as a test.

Pop the CDR in and the iMid will show "Reading..." as long as it stays on 'Reading...' then you're fine.

After a few minutes go to the HDD and select the update button. It will then sit on' updating' for about 10 minutes then you will get the 'Update Successful' message.

If that occurred then you won't see the correct version till you next enter the HDD update section.

Kremmen, is this only possible via CD, and not USB? I am asking because I no longer have a CD drive, neither on my personal nor on my office laptop...

CD only.

I haven't bothered because I find the HDD a pain compared to music on a USB.

Hi.
Just to clarify the original post.
I could not manage it with IMG but I did a straight copy and paste(using explorer), click "share" on the top tool bar, then "burn to disc".
Make sure that you do not burn a configaration file, just the ones listed below and in the format below.

Make sure all of the following files from ZIP file have been downloaded and decompressed:
CDDB (file folder)
pamenipla.apn

The CDDB folder should contain the following files:
CDDB_MNG.bin
elists.inv
emms.idx
emms.mdt
emms_current.cfg
leusdut.db
leuseng.db
leusfre.db
leusger.db
leusita.db
leuspor.db
leusrus.db
leusspa.db
leusswe.db
lglsdut.db
lglseng.db
lglsfre.db
lglsger.db
lglsita.db
lglspor.db
lglsrus.db
lglsspa.db
lglsswe.db

Do not remove any files from the CDDB folder. Files should be transferred to your vehicle in this format.
CDDB
pamenipla.apn

Note that there should be nothing else (If there is it will not work) on the CD except for "CDDB"
and "pamenipla.apn"

Then follow the installations guide in the original post.
Note that whilst updating there is an "ok"touch button, do not touch as this will stop the update and you will have to install again.
It will tell you when it has up dated, so just turn off the audio and then back on. All done and the Grace note version will have changed.
I have WIN 10 and the 10Gb hard drive system.

Cheers.
