Hellow,

I have a question about the wireless phone system in the civic (using bluetooth)

When someone call's you, what's happens then with the radio/nav system ?

like :

- Goes the sounds of the radio out ?
- Appears the name of the caller on the main display ?
- ...

Can someone give me a little info of this ?

My phone is a Nokia 6230i

Thx

ghosty_boy, the radio volume is turned off during a call, not sure about the sat nav as I have not received a call whilst the sat nav was giving directions.

If you get a call while being directed, unless I'm imagining it, you get the call panned to the left speakers, and the directions panned to the right. Which is kinda cool :D

You don't get the caller name on the display though. Which isn't.

If you have the screen on the satnav/audio disappears and is replaced with a big black phone outline. The satnav is as the other Rich rightly pointed out panned to one of the front speakers, I can't remember which. It would be better in my opinion to mute the satnav and leave the map on.

It gets hellishly confusing, especially straight out of the box cos the sat nav volume is quite high, I have mine turned down to only the second mark

LOL!

luckily all the people that call me are used to my complete lack of sense of direction, and are used to my sat nav giving instructions to me in the background :D

That said, with the state of the Mic for the HFC I doubt they'll hear them anyway

Phone v Radio

When the phone rings, the radio goes on mute - in fact it mutes it prior to the ring tone - the nav voice switches to one set of speakers so you get phone from the right and nav from the left - a cool idea because in my last car the nav went quiet when you were on the phone and you could miss an instruction

Sat Nav and Phone

What version do you have! - on mine the nav map stays on and TEL comes up in the sub display.

Ianjay, I think you might be correct, I think I get the big black telephone over the Audio screen, not the Nav screen, might go and have a play in a mo.

Richerich - reckon you may actually be right - I have never received a call with the audio display on because I always leave the map on. Will try itself myself, we both might have learned something!
