Strange one for me. I recently started a new policy for my CTR, taking my max NCB to new insurer. I now have to reinsure my old Volvo as its not selling. So expected quote to be expensive with no NCB.

It was only £180 compared to £170 with max NCB.

I had a similar experience, I"m selling the civic soon and will be buying a corsa 1.3 cdti as a daily runner as well as something else :D I checked insurance prices with and without NCB and the difference was about £20!! Not what I had in mind at all!

NCB acts as a discount so I guess if the "starting price" is lower it might end up lower!

OFT (Office of Fair Trading) are looking at car insurance at the moment. I suggest you report it as it appears to suggest that NCB are in fact not what they seem.
