I have a 2006 civic and if I have the heater on for a while the radio starts turning itself on and off
it started a few years ago but only happened maybe once every six months or so
I tried stopping and turning off the engine which seemed to work but now the problem is getting worse and the turning off trick dosent work but keeping the heater temperature low seems to work , also the LCD display ( clock etc) seems to loose bits of the letters and numbers intermittently
Any ideas much appreciated
thanks Sean :grin2:

Display is a common problem on the 8th gen and is loose soldering. There's a guide on a fix in the how to section but basically requires pins resoldering.

As for radio its probably replacement job. Can pick up cheap enough.

Is your '2006 Civic' a diesel ?

There was an issue where the early diesel Civics would automatically turn on the rear demist in colder weather and that would affect the aerial reception.
