I've had my type r 2011 with 30000 miles for 4 months now, and something that's been present since day 1 is worrying me now. When driving slowly in 1st or 2nd at about 2000rpm, there's a noise I always thought was gravel stuck to the tyres hitting the plastic guards in the wings as I moved. I've now noticed that this noise happens even when I'm stationary out of gear. If I slowly press the throttle, between about 1000 and 2500 rpm this noise comes from the front. It goes away after about 2500 rpm. It's just like gravel in a plastic bucket. Any ideas of what it could be? Thanks.

Check the heat shields on the exhaust - they tend to rust, partly come loose and vibrate at certain engine speeds.
