Best to give foreign trucks as wide a berth as possible as there is indeed a blind spot just below and behind the cab on all trucks and this is exagerated on left hand drive trucks. Its just the same for right hand drive trucks on the continent.

Ouch!! - damn right get Honda to fix it - looks like a new rear quarter panel.

Should be OK with insurance - he hit you - doesn't matter if he has problems with his mirrors it's his responsibility to ensure he can see properly

Good luck !!

I hit my car on a post a few months after having it 2 days. I took it to Brindley in Cannock who are a Honda approved body shop, they made a lovely job of replacing the rear quarter panel.

Have you checked if your rear wheel has buckled? Get the wheel and axles checked while you're at the repair shop there might be more damage than you think, but yeah hope you get it fixed pretty soon :(

got the exact same problem. someone reversed into me, the exact same spot and exact same damage.

Insurance companies take the cars to their linked garages but i feel its rubbish. How hard can it be just take it back to a honda garage or specialised body shop!!!!

My EP3 CTR suffered similar damage when a cyclist went into the side of me. They had to replace the rear quarter panel because the surface had been creased, no way to beat it out. When you get it back make sure the colour is correct, mine was slightly too dark and it went back in.

The reason why they want you to go to the garage they have suggested is because they have preferential rates. If you want to use a Honda garage they usually give you the buff that if anything goes wrong with the repairs you are not covered but you will be covered by Honda in this case.

Good luck.

i had my rear 1/4 panel replaced after sum1 reversed into me back in sept. think initial quote was £1980 or something stupid.

best of luck with it, took them almost a month to do mine in the body shop

you might not get a replacment panel. if most of it can be pulled then filled then thats what they will do, it is sometime better this way. mine was done by an independant from my insurer, they were very nice and had it back twice until i was happy. i told them from the start if its not right you will get it back, and they did. i even made them replace my centre dash as they cleaned it and scratched it. we all pay alot for insurance so make sure you are happy when any work is done. but at the end of the day it will never be as good as factory. (sorry as bad as factory)
