I have posted the same thread on Type r owners

I'm looking at an FN2 and on the MOT it says

nearside rear Shock absorber has a slightly worn linkage (2.7.4)
offside rear Shock absorber has a slightly worn linkage (2.7.4)

the car is lowered on 35mm Eibach springs will this be the problem and how big of a problem is the linkages ?

Thanks

Mat

As it's been reported during an MOT, I would agree with you that #4 is the item in question.

Were these 'advisories' or 'failures'?

Okay, then they may well actually be fine. It will be interesting to see if they report them next year (although they may look at this years report whilst compiling theirs!).

I would have thought that the damper would be shot before the bush tho, does the rear of your car bang/crash along? If so, then look at replacement dampers - they could we be near the price of a couple of replacement bushes (from Honda).

The bushes are relatively easy to replace, just 1 bolt either side to undo. The tricky bit is going to be drifting out the bush and drifting the new one back in. Oversize sockets a long bolt and washers usually does the trick. Or you could undo the top mount and work on the units in a vice.
