Anyone got a guide for doing this? On a Type R preferably.

Had a quick look at it lasnight and looks to be a ******* of a job on the LHS (battery side) of the car. A guide or some hints off someone who has already done the task wouldnt go a miss :)

Had a search but couldnt see a specific thread...unless i'm Stevie Wonder

It would be confortable to install the bulbs by removing the battery.
Else release the ground connector from the battery.
Open the cover behind the light by turning.
Take off the connection cable from the bulb.
Then remove the cover from the lights and loosen the 2 T25 screws.
Take off the holder and then the bulb.
Remember the position of the holder.
Insert the new bulb (don't touch it) and then mount back the holder.
Tighten the 2 T25 screws.
Put back the connection cable to the bulb.
Close the cover behind the light.

Have fun with your new bulbs...

I appear to have a thick oval shaped what appears to be an intake pipe of some sort runing from the wing down past the headlamp which kind of blocks you from getting into the cover on the lamp.

I have disconnected my battery a 100 times... never had problems...
Only the Time has to be reset if you have one.

But i have an aftermarket 2DIN head unit...

You can reprogramm your code if it would be lost...

Thought i'd update this...

Started at 2pm, whipped off the trim around the winds and slam panel...5mins easy..

Drivers side light cover off, bulb out, bit of a fiddle getting the new one back in with the torx screws and behing a tight space.... bout 15mins..

Drivers side, battery out, 10mins spent trying to force the rubber 1st part of the intake out, then 2 tics to get the 2nd part out. Bulb cover off, bulb out... and heres where it all went pete tong. My mate then turns up, i chat while i remove bulb, then i remember putting a bulb back in the holder, so bolted it back in, bulb cover back on.
Me and him then spent the next hour - hour and a half trying to get the rubber top half of the intake pipe back on, no matter what we done we couldnt get the 3 sides to slip over, one kept popping off. I recon due to the temperature just now with it being cold, this made the rubber tougher thus resulting in the issues. Trim all back on... fire the lights on and BOOM........ passenger side one is white and i think to myself "hmm, thats weird, wonder if they need ran for a few mins" It then hits home i've made a ******* of a mistake, i go to the original bulbs i've pulled out and look at them... one is a phillips..one is aftermarket.

NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!! << YUP! thats right, while chattin to him, i've pulled the original out and some how managed to then put it back in the holder and bolt it back in!!

So, I've gave up. Changed the Drivers side back to OEM as its a easy task and threw Mr JP's bulbs in the bin.

Good luck to anyoen else that does this task, hopefully they dont make a big **** up like myself.

my first attempt was nearly like yours ;o)
i need about 2 houres to change the bulbs.
but i found out that it is nessesary to remove the battery first.

i made the whole scenario twice because i get some cheap bulbs without the stabilize strib on it. so the bulbs will be vibrate while driving.

i've ordered oem bulbs with 6000k and they have this stabilize strip.

Mr JP's bulbs must be right otherwise he wouldnt of sold so many, i got some but havent fitted them yet.
The reason I ask is that I had Jp's 6k's, the swapped back to the OEM 4.3Ks, but they seem loose in the holder (Which is fitted correctly). When I go over a large bump, I can see the bulb move a bit. I now think maybe I have lost/not had a spacer ring.

When I fitted the 6k's I don't recall removing any such thing and there was I little white ring with JP's, but I thought that was part of the shipping case/holder???
