Hi guys,

I bought a new gear knob for my 2006 1.8 petrol EX Civic.

When I try to unscrew the gear know its just keeps going round to no avail. Is there a trick I am missing?

I've had a look at a fair few posts and they just say either unscrew or turn the nut... which doesn't seem to apply to my vehicle...

Any suggestions?

I have the exact same car but can't remember exactly. Came off easy enough tho. I put electrical tap around the bottom plastic bit so I could grip with pliers, gave it a twist and off it came. Are you just spinning the whole thing without holding lower bit still?

It's the bit at the bottom of the pic you have to hold still while you unscrew anti clockwise. If that doesn't work I'm not sure what happening

Try twisting and pulling a the same time, usually should just screw off.

Hey there,

How do you got the greater fill into the plastic? Did you something special to locks nice?
Hey matey,
Thanks. All I did was take off the plastic trim and pushed the excess into the empty space and then put the trim back on. It was a very fiddley job but worth it in the end.
