Sorry for my ignorance, but why is the FD2 engine Better than the FN2, or why are some of the parts better
I am not an expert but will give it a go and somebody can correct me if wrong:

FD2 oil pump - removed balancer, less weight = engine spins more freely

FD2 cams - more agressive profile (drop in oem design, no need to change other parts) = more power thru the range

FD2 throttle body - bigger than fn2 = more top end power

FD2 intake manifold - best shape for k20 engines = more top end power/torque

I also think the FD2s exhaust system is more straight to the back of the car and has no 90degree bends like the fn2 does. Might be more but as I said I am no expert :)

Wouldn't bother with FD2 cams in all honesty. I'd go TDi North drop ins as a minimum to be worth the expense unless you find them cheap + cheap labour.

Can have the cams for 280 delivered. Used for 2k miles. Car will go for engine work and map anyway. For this price do you think it is worth it?

£280 is good. Labour should be roughly same ontop but if you're getting work anyway it's worth it I'd say :)

Goodies arrived. Part numbers on the boxes are 14110-PRC-030 and 14120-PRC-030. Googled it but people seem to have different opinions on what type of cams these actualy are. FD2/JDM/DC5? These have been ordered from japan as I did get the original receipt with it. Who knows the answer? :)

Just ordered them from supplier in Malaysia called Max Audio, delivered £58.

Anything to watch out for when I fit them?

Does one end fit to the battery earth point, if so any issues with disconnecting the battery lead?
Easy and straight forward fit. Not had any issues and I am far from somebody who you would call skilled with tools lol.

I had an issue that if I fitted the bonnet brackets a curtain way the bonnet doesn't shut properly. It was a case of determining their left & right to mine :p
I also relocated the earth strap back a hole so as I could get the front fitting as far forward as possible and even to the other side too.

A/C repair update. New condenser is in and the system has been filled with gas and cleaned. Tested and there are no leaks so far. It is blowing ice cold air and surprisingly there are no ugly smells. I am quite surprised as the aircon has not been used for 4+ years. The compressor is a bit loud as it lubricates itself while in use. Aparently this should fix itself if I am lucky enough. Fingers crossed and hoping it will be all good :)

Modification bug still continues and this time I have decided to upgrade the awful factory speakers. Finished it just in time before it started to rain :) Front and rear speakers now replaced with JBL Club 6500c and JBL Club 6520. The how to's on this site have been an enourmous help for me. I am always afraid of breaking trim but must say it was easy and all my trim and even clips are still in one piece :) I have kept all original wires and also made connectors from the old speakers to simply clip into the original loom. Here are some pictures of the install:

The difference is huge. So much clearer and also way louder. Speakers take a while to settle in tho so in a few weeks maybe a month I expect even bigger improvement. Had a sound install in every one of my previous cars and this always was the case.
