Good afternoon everyone. I am bringing this to the attention of the forum community after many months of waiting and trying to sort out an issue with Robbiharry and him not paying me what I'm owed.
The details:
Firstly here is the original for sale thread: Rotrex Supersport for sale
Robbi offered full asking price and when me and him were discussing the deal he could put a deposit of £1000 down and pay the rest in installments which would be spread across 6 months maximum. Now although it is risky doing installments over an internet sale, I spoke with Robbi in detail with the plan and we both had names, addresses, bank details etc and at this stage were both happy and comfortable to continue.
The supercharger was dispatched to him and he did not want nor ask for the motor mounts (in the for sale thread you can see they sold to someone else)
Robbi agreed to pay £200 a month plus anything extra he could do in between payments. The first payment I got arrived ok and he stated he had a Standing order set up which was nice and easy as it would keep paying automatically until the balance was payed. The date on which this was planned was the 26th of each month.
The second payment date came and went and I chased him up. He then transferred just £50 6 days late. The 3rd payment date came and went and i chased him up and he payed the agreed £200. Then i didnt hear from him from 1//11/2011 to 3/1/2012 now a gap of 2 months with lots of contact attempts that came to nothing was a bit alarming. No standing order had been set up obviously.
I then used my work mobile to phone him and alas! he picks up first time and says he has been under the weather and busy (We all know it doesnt take 10 minutes to send a quick PM or even easier a text to my phone keeping me in touch but nothing)
Once I got hold of him he then made 3 payments in January which was very kind and helped me out a lot.
Then I didnt hear anything else through January until Pottsy got involved and the ball started rolling again. At this stage I started looking at the deal we had and the exact amount I had received from Robbi. I checked all the dates and the amount received and so so so glad I did as I was £850 short. At first I thought I was just expecting £300. Bad on my part and im not going to make me sound perfect through this transaction...Im just giving you all the FACTS. What I found when checking everything twice was there were a couple of extra bits that me and Robbi had bought/sold to each other of the forum. Things like a flashpro and a fuel rail. The mistake I made was at first I added these sale amounts to the outstanding balance Robbi owed (Hence the figure of £300 I was left with) I also refunded money to Robbi and I didnt amend the amount owed. Maths was never my strong point in School and my account keeping at first was a bit lapse to say the least!

Wow! he is selling after such a short time and I was thinking maybe I will FINALLY get the rest of the money im owed. He sells the charger for asking price and then receives the money. I text him again saying well done on the sale, now can I have my money basically. Still nothing from him. I then see this post by him: New BMW
Now I really thought this is taking the biscuit. Paying cash for a new BMW AND selling the supercharger on which he still owes me ***!? So now I sent him a stronger message saying its a bit dis heartening to see you buying a car in cash but yet you say you cant afford to send me any money? Sort it out kindly please. (Would just like to add I have never been rude in what I sent via text/PM/Email I see it if you stay civil you get further....this time it didnt
)
So from that Pottsy got involved and I checked all the dates and amounts of transfers; adding and taking away any refunds or extras that were sent between Robbi and I. Checked, double checked and tripple checked and the amount outstanding was £850
Robbi is now banned and STILL hasn't sent any further money even after all the strong evidence put to him. I asked him if he could check his statements just so it backs up what I see on my statements. He point blankly refuses to and basically throws he toys out the pram and says he is right and Im wrong. Very adult and very UN HELPFUL!
So what im left with is £850 out of pocket, not to sure what action i can take next and a good lesson learnt. Also a good example of why not to do monthly pay deals even through a good forum where trust is put between members where you think ethics and values are shared. (The majority of us do have the same ethics and values. Again its the minority that let us down)
Any advice taken, criticism accepted but please be CONSTRUCTIVE. Iv pointed out the flaws on my side and sorted them. So hopefully this will stay on track and advice on a positive outcome can be sought. I will reply to all of you as and when I come online throughout the day. Maybe a bit of extra pressure from those who may be closer to him might help. But he is one of the rudest people I know and if you do know him and havnt seen this side of him then your in for a shock. Not once has a rude message been sent to him but the written diarrhea that I have had to take (and Pottsy I may add) has been unnecessary and upsetting at times.
