I was looking under my doors this morning to try and remove the rubber bungs. But it seems my doors have a strip of rubber that run the length of the door. I checked on the water in door thread and found this picture.

But my door looks like this underneath instead.

Should the long rubber strip be removed?

Which bung are you talking about?

You got a picture that you can show me?

I have a rubber strip just above the rubber bung on the door, dont you? This is normal.
Is it ok to remove it as I cant get to the rubber bungs otherwise. When I lower my windows into the door they are dry to start with, but when they come up there is rain water on them. Does this mean my doors are storing water? I cant actually hear any sloshing sounds however.

I believe the face lift models have the rubber strip along the bottom. I'm sure it's to reduce road noise.

Yes, the MY09 and newer (and the 9G) don't have the bungs but do have additional sound-proofing via this rubber strip.

I don't think the strip causes any water retention issues ?
