there is no problem to replace the cladding.
However, when you need to re-install you should new clips installed.
The specialclips ranks off when it comes to an accident and the airbag
blows on.
These clips have two grid points and must be carefully assembled.
this is on the A-pillars so, think it is in the same in the C-pillars!

I know it's because I had my automatic dimming inside mirror retrofitted in my CTR and I so the A-pillar cladding on the driver's side had to dismantle. :)

Does anyone know how much this part costs please? Would it be fairly easy to do or will it require a dealer to sort it?

with skilled craftsmanship and a little sentimental, you should be able to change themselves.
but do not forget to add the new clips to your order.

here the part numbers from 2007 CTR (I think 2008 and 2009 they should be identical!)

right side: 84131-SMR-E11ZA - 21,14 EURO (18,15 GBP)
left side: 84181-SMR-E11ZA - 21,14 EURO
(18,15 GBP)

You also need per cladding the following clips:

1x 91561-SJD-003 - 1,39 EURO (1,19 GBP)
1x 91560-S84-A01 - 1,60 EURO
(1,37 GBP)

Prices are in EURO (GBP) excluding VAT and traders win!

But of course! ;)

here:

where the seatbelt for the rear seats is placed or between the rear side and back windows!

:)

Would i be right in thinking its just a plastic cover over the airbag then? Is there a danager of the airbag going off when changing?

it's just a plastic cover.
which is then exposed airbag unit.
it should not happen, but I would approach with caution! :)
