Had my Civic since September last year, 07 model with now 35000 miles done.
Anyway, for the last couple of weeks I've noticed smoke coming from the exhausts on startup, but at no other times.
Additionally the car does feel a bit sluggish compared to a few weeks back.
Last service was only 5500 miles ago so really no idea what the problem is.
Any thoughts?
Cheers in advance.

Condensation mate if only start up. U may also be burning a little oil so check that if oil ok and water ok don't panic. Most cars do have a bit of smoke on start up and I have been working on cars many many years

+1

Keep an eye on your oil levels but it sounds like condensation. My derv always did this on startup.

Cheers mate, just odd that its only started in the last couple of weeks.
Does seem to use a fair bit of oil though, its still under warranty (previous owner extended it) so may be worth getting it checked?

Engines tend to do this more in humid conditions and it has been very humid of late. Unless it's blue smoke I wouldn't be too concerned :)

White smoke is normal on a lots of dervs at cold start.
Engine runs competely different until upto temps and uses different maps.
Atmospheric conditions do effect this.
Its basically ovefueling slightly with cold chamber walls.
Get Honda to do an injector test if worried.

I is possible to have white smoke from a blown head gasket leaking water into the engine too...but this is all the time and not just start up.
Your water levels will drop if such was the case anyway.
;)
