Just after parking the car the other day, the missus tries to open the passanger door to get out, but it just makes a kinda of "crack" noise as if something broke, and then wouldn't open.

On closer inspection, the lock switch on the inside of the door doesn't work either, it's completely loose and can be wiggled freely from side to side.

Luckily the central locking and the outside handle still works, so I was able to help her out of the car, and even felt like a gentleman opening the door for her like that. :D

However, I'd rather get it fixed than stay the gentleman...

So any of you guys got any idea of what might have snapped inside the door? And if it's just a small plastic bit, a partnumber would be nice. I'd rather have the likely parts at the ready (if they are relatively cheap) when I take the door apart, instead of having to take the door apart, see whats broken, put it back, get the part and have to take it apart again.

So any insight would be very welcome, thanks in advance...

The door handle and lock switch are attached to a cable. The cables are held in place by a bit of plastic. It could be snapped cables, or broken plastic. You'll have to remove the panel before the parts arrive anyway to check the damage. Since you're not able to use the handle and lock, I'd remove the panel and leave it like that until the spare part(s) arrive. Not quite the elegant solution, but it beats removing the door panel multiple times.

You're still under warranty aren't you at 2008?
Thats a good point actually... I never even considered it, but yeah, this must be covered under the 3 year warranty. Honda can sort it out!
