Does anyone know if the space saver wheel fits over the brake disc/caliper on the front, on the Type R. Dealer mentioned that it didn't, but handbook says nothing.

I know its not a good idea to drive with it on the front, just i want to take the wheel off, get some work done, then replace it. so wont be driving anywhere. Bit of a pain to take two wheels off etc blah blah....

Won't fit.

If a front goes you put the space saver on the rear and use that wheel for the front.

Now that is well worth knowing :)

So if you get a puncture:
1 Take rear wheel off
2 Put space saver spare on rear
3 Take punctured front wheel off
4 Put full size rear wheel on front

If you didn't know this in advance:
1 Take punctured front wheel off
2 Try to puts space saver on front and get ****** ***
3 Put punctured wheel back on front
4 Take rear wheel off
5 Put space saver spare on rear
6 Take punctured front wheel off
7 Put full size rear wheel on front

Just what you need if it is pouring down !!

Sounds that way yes. :D

The bad news is, even armed with this knowledge, you're still going to get wet!! :(

It definately fits on the front of mine, I've done it! I had to get a wheel repaired so I used it for the short drive home from the garage rather than wait up there. The handling was er, interesting(!) and I wouldn't want to drive any further but it definately fits.

Wow.

I was told by Honda it wouldn't fit as was same size as the old EP3 one and that didn't.
Maybe I have a different space saver ie old EP3 one???

I had a big issue just after I got the car in 07 that I hit a big pothole. It bent the rim of the alloy and put a big gash in the wall of the tire.
All I had was the foam can in the back...no space saver, and was 250 miles from home.
AA didn't want to know as they claim a pothole is an RTA therefore has to be dealt with by the insurance company.??:worms:

Eventually got a recovery truck out who was told cant replace tire as rim was damaged so needed a new rim so car had to be recovered and put into storage where I sort the issue. bearing in mind am 250 miles from home they weren't interested.

I had good contacts at Honda UK who said that as it was a new car they had no spare rims in stock but could get one flown over from manufacturers in Germany for next day. They did say that a space saver would fit but only on the rear and wouldn't recommend a 250 mile trip back home on it but there was one available at a local dealers.

Eventually I got towed home at my expense of £550 as the AA weren't interested even though I had full roadside relay cover with them and had to go through my insurance company. If I didnt pay the recovery cost the claim would go against me and I couldn't have that.

Got car home dead late, offloaded it onto the driveway with view to picking up the new wheel from local Honda next day.....only to have the house broken into and the car stolen! bent flat wheel as well!!!

You would not believe the **** and hastle I got from the police and insurance company as they couldn't understand how an "undrivable" car was stolen and suspected I was upto no good! Also try and explain 2 claims in 24 hours to the insurance company!!!

Anyway. When I got my new car the first think I made sure I had was a space saver!

The AA.

They called me a liar for saying I had a new car and no spare wheel, then when I explained many new cars don't even have space savers just the can of foam, the operator suggested I remove the damaged tire and fit the foam one!

And this is supposed to be the 4th emergency service, as well as one that specialises in motor vehicles and the retards working there think you have a foam wheel stashed in the boot you can fit when needed.
