Right,

I noticed a week or so ago i've developed a low speed squeak (this was ever so slightly breaking in a straight line doing under 5mph)...thought nothing of it as I was in traffic and I thought it could have been another car.

Then I heard it again, this time turning.

Last night I decided to attempt to recreate the noise/pin point the location. Started with driving slowing in a straight line and then tried breaking ever so slightly...none really created the noise.

Then I drove around in circles - Left hand circles is fine...but, right hand circles squeak!?!?!

I was doing 3mph on full lock and I got; Squeak....Squeak....Squeak....Squeak.... (defo sounds like its coming from the left hand side of the car!)

Ideas as to what it could be?

Warped disc? (this is high on my list as I also get vibration under heavy breaking when exiting a motorway)
Wheel Bearing? I having jacked the car up yet and checked for play in the wheel.
Sticking Brake Pads? Front &/or Rear?

or

Is it purely the power steering pump strugling as im doing such a low speed??

Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

P.s. I don't have a mouse in the glove box.

I think it is probably a disc problem ,the power steering is electric on a diesel I presume petrol engine is the same,

Could be the pads are low and the clip is just hitting the disk causing a sqeak, happned on my last car

I've done a video (audio is quite clear too) I'll upload it tonight - Silly 3G connection keeps on failing on me.

Silly question - If I take the wheel off would a warped disc be pretty visable? Or is it only a couply of mm? If I lay a straight edge (metal ruler or similar) across it would this be enough to pick up any high/low points?

You wont notice a warped disc with the bear eye.
I had 'warped disc' but they didnt squeek, only massive, droning vibrations under braking.
I do think there's a tool you can buy to check it. Dont know how its called though, some else will come along and provide you with the info

i've also recently read that a warped disc is a myth. Its caused by uneven deposition on the disc by the brake pads resulting in a varying thickness....

I was under the impression warped discs were caused by not releasing the brake after heavy braking - so a portion of the disk isn't allowed to cool.

So it seems like it defo is more of a braking issue rather than a bearing?

I only have a limited knowledgde but that really sounds disc or brakepad related to me. Combined with your vibration under braking i would look in to the 'warped' disc route. Get the discs off, give them a thorough clean (in case it IS only brake pad material build up). If not i would change the front discs.
Was this video taken with hot or warm discs?

It is likely to be the pads that need replacing, they are designed to squeal when they get low.

Got a similar but lower pitched sound on my civic only when I turn left.

I have been told that it's a caliper rebuild and new pads and discs as they have worn unevenly and there is a bevelled edge on the disc. Just one of many many problems with this car.

Also need the software update as the oil level sensor light has come on.
Honda want £96 to do this. Totally cheesed off with them.

P.s. I also get a bit of a wobble/shake thru the wheel at motorway speed - is this more than likely a separate issue to my original? Simple wheel balancing?

Cheers for all the advice I'll take the wheels off tomorrow for a good inspection/cleanup and order the relevant parts

Forgot to also mention one more thing....the front left wheel (the one i think is causing the squeak) has one of its bolts snapped. Could this cause uneven pressure on the disc and causing it to warp?
