After having a new b pipe installed, the back box is slightly further back by about an inch. One of the rubber exhaust hangers behind the bumper occasionally rubs against the underside of the boot. This makes an awful noise inside the car. I've tried gluing some rubber pipe in between the hanger and boot floor, it worked for a while but has fallen out. Would putting a big dollop of grease in between cure the problem or is there a better solution?

Hmm; Not quite sure what you mean, but might a polybush / powerflex exhaust hangar with a bit more rigidity stop it from coming into contact?

Alternatively, could you get some high temperature / non flammable (Keep the risk down!) insulation mat that could stick in?

The backbox metal hanger hooks both have a rubber (dog biscuit shape) hanger that connects to hooks under the boot floor. One of the rubbers rubs against the boot floor structure, some kind of structural box tubing. I'm thinking of white lithium grease to stop the rubbing squeak.
