So I need someones help with diagnostic the problem.
After 15-20 minutes of driving I keep hearing a high squeal noise when accelerating in 1st and 2nd gear and when I accelerate harder the noise goes away, im not sure if its the timing belt of a brake pad but the brake pads seem fine when I apply the brakes.
If its my timing belt how much would I roughly cost to fix?

Thanks

civics are cam chain not belt.
do you mean the aux belt that drives the alternator etc?

these are cheap as chips £12 upwards and are a possible diy job, otherwise cheap at garage.
Honda charge £90 and that includes a belt @ £53

I'm not sure it might be the aux belt, it squeals now and again when pulling away in 1st and 2nd gear at low revs, ill take it too the garage and get them to have a proper look.

Cheers for the reply

Sounds like Aux belt. It's quite a distinctive sound. Does it make a noise if you rev the car while stationary?
