For over a year i have been suffering with inconsistent power, juddering, bad fuel consumption and jerking at low revs.
My car always seemed to run fine and i wanted more power so i decided to get a stage 1 Celtic (194bhp 316lb/ft) in June 2010. It drove great for about 500 miles then the problems i mentioned before arose. I will point out i don't blame the map i know that the issue must have been there but not really noticeable with a standard map.
Honda replaced my clutch and flywheel under warranty but this didn't solve the problem and they didn't know what else to do as there was no error codes, by this time it had drifted out of warranty. I tried lots of different garages, some of which rolling road tested it and couldn't tell me what the problem was apart from it was the maps fault or i needed a new clutch/flywheel.
I had the map removed but the issue was still there but very very minor, so i decided to stay standard for a while but not for long!
After trial and error (without spending money on blindly changing parts) i had narrowed it down to the EGR, i tried and EGR cleaner which helped for a few days but the problem came back so i contacted Elite regarding their EGR delete map. The same day Fahad called me to discuss my problems with the car, he was a friendly knowledgable guy, he said he could do a mobile install the next day.
Fahad arrived at my work and installed the stage 2 EGR delete and i took it out for a spin, unlike most guys who get a remap i wasn't interested in how fast it had become, i was too busy trying to make it replicate any of my issues, I couldn't do it.... all seemed well.
I have drive the car for quite a few days and miles now and i can safely say i am over the moon, i have got my smile back and it didn't cost me the price of an EGR valve and i don't have to worry about it getting gunked up or breaking.
The car drives quite different to the Celtic stage 1, it isn't as aggressive at low revs which i actually prefer, it has a very smooth power delivery and with normal town driving it is very relaxing and quiet but still able to impress my mate who has a E350 diesel and that has a mountain of torque.
Overall i can say I am very happy and would highly recommend it.
Sorry for the long post it has been a long journey and one that not many people wanted to help me with.
