I got invited to Gatwick Honda this week to partake in their "Cost Price + £99" event.

Had a good look at the car, ran some finance details (it will be on PCP) and these looked good (around £40 less p/m that what I'm paying at the moment). With the current PCP plan I would have had to do something in March 2013 anyway.

Went away to think about it. Went back this morning and test drove it again (did one a few months ago). I took my father along for a second opinion and he sat in the back. Test drive was good and my father didn't have complaints sitting in the back.

Took some photo's and more details and came away.

Anyway, I've just been back and put down a deposit for an Orchid White 1.8ES Manual. :D

I'll admit the 9th Gen Civic doesn't have the same dynamic look the 8th Gen had. Once you get in it, it's a whole different car.

Hopefully get delivery sometime at the beginning of Sept - just in time to break it in with a trip to Cornwall. :)

The deal includes:
£1500 Deposit from Honda
3yrs Servicing Plan
GAP Insurnace
Paint Protection
Mats
Reversing Sensors (I know the ES has a camera)

Question - Does anyone know if the space saver spare wheel from the 8th Gen Civic will fit the 9th Gen (the ES has 16" wheels)? Honda didn't have any techs around to ask.

Mine drops in OK but there is no fixing like before so I cannot screw it down to the boot floor. It moves around from side to side.

Fixing? I never had anything like that in my old Civ's boot... do they fit that when you order the space saver?

I seem to recall there is a long screw with a handle which goes through the middle of the wheel and attaches it to the bodywork.

If I get a chance tomorrow I'll have a look at mine (8th Gen).

@Bog - Thanks for confirming the wheel will fit.
