My cw fn2 is making some strange noises! Sounds like the drivers side rear wheel is sticking on the callipers! The back wheel gets very hot as well! It happens when I'm not braking so can't be worn pads. Have rung local Honda dealer booked in on Friday to check it out! It's done about 26000 miles and had her serviced by tdi north at 25000! Can I expect a warranty claim if it's a sticking calliper?

It sounds like metal on metal! And the wheel is so hot you can't touch it!

That sounds to me like a sticking calliper - however, 26000 miles to a set of pads is good so you may be stuggling to get the pads replaced under warranty. However, if the sticking calliper has damaged the disk then you stand a good chance of a warranty claim for both the disk and pads.

Sadly there is no chance of warranty claim for the disks and pads.

I had a stuck calliper on the rear right which damaged the disk. Honda "repaired" the sticking calliper under warrenty but they wanted me to pay for new pads and disks. At the time my car had only done 15K.

I got them to unstick the calliper and then I changed the disks and pads myself (considerably cheaper option and the braking is improved with the new disks & pads)

My rear disks and pads were changed under warranty - sticking calliper had damaged the disk, dealer took photographs and sent them to Honda UK and Honda UK said yes - new rear disks and pads :D (my car had only done 12,500 miles and this was noticed at the first service - I did have to argue my point)

i'm getting this aswell mate, had it checked at tdi north yesterday and seems plenty of meat on the pads and discs are ok. road grime and salt is my first thought will see how it goes.

i'll be watching your findings.

i too bad the same problem , got honda to take a look, they confirmed a sticking caliper and i was told it WAS NOT covered by warranty:mad: that it was a build up of road grime on the slides, ended sorting it myself with some penetrating spray, i too am watching to see how this goes.

Seems to me that dependant of which dealer you approach depends on whether its a warranty claim or not, whatever the problem is:(

Will let you know how I get on! Was thinking about changing disks and pads as well as braided hoses and better fluid! If it's not a warranty claim I will do it myself I think!

ran against the same brick wall today ! dealer wants an hours labour to "investigate" at my expense

took the car to a local garage as i thought it was the pads that had worn due to a grinding from the rear passenger side only to be told it was a sticking caliper

i didnt and probably should have asked him to look a little more but without thinking i said throw the wheels back on thats covered by my warranty , booked in tomorrow morning but the excuse have started already "oh that might be road grime and will be £60 for a strip and clean"

the car has done almost 19k

its annoying when some dealers have 1 set of rules and another dealer has another rule
I've come across that also... one dealer charged me £500 for a new clutch while another dealer 20 miles up the road said he'd have done it under warranty.

Touch wood I've not had any problems with my FN and sticking calipers, but my EP3 has had all sorts of caliper problems at the back. Drove it down the road one day with smoke bellowing out from the drivers side wheel!

Had my car checked today! Discs pads and callipers shagged! All going to be done under warranty tomorrow! No courtesy car though so got a 4 mile run back from steelers in the morning! Very impressed with the service from Avonvale Honda in Coventry!

was gong to say calipers and the pads have gone....
... I stripped and rebuilt my calipers.
None of them had a smooth operation and all needed flush/rebuild.
Grit or metal in the bores
