Beware the dreaded MOT

Mot tester took offense to my sumo sunstrip today and failed it on the test !

If you have something similar its got to go its waaaay over the 10mm limit

I thought as long as the wipers didn't touch it then it was ok but from what I remember the wipers go to almost the top of the windscreen

Thats correct and the wiper allows for just 10mm

Def does depend on how strict your MOT tester is, they have cover their self has could mean their MOT license being taken off them if vosa check a car and find faults.

Its a dedicated MOT testing place thats in an industrial unit next door to where a mate of mine works

Definitely a "jobsworth" decision.....there should be discretion and common sense applied to things like this.
Having said that...many years ago on different car i had a furry toy hanging from my mirror, and the tester advised me in advance to remove it or he would fail me.
It seemed crazy, but there you go.
This was a place in Randolph Industrial Estate, so it would seem that applying the letter of the law is not only confined to main dealers.

Just fit a pair of 12" wipers and get it retested!
Bingo, the wipers will be miles away from the sunstrip
