I've seen a few posts were people have been told this is easy, however I cant get my old blades off. Replacements are not identical (Bosch) but I get the idea of how they should come off.

They were changed once many years back by the dealer (due to damage) and the latest set have probably been on for 70K miles.

I've tried squeezing the clips on either side to no avail. Not sure if they've just seized in place or road dirt is stopping them coming off. May have to take the arm off and immerse in warm water.

Any suggestions before I try this

The clips are a little difficult to get off, but they will come. Use a screwdrive to pop the cap off. Then, don't forget there is a clip under the blade. Look at how the new bosh ones have a "latch" that needs to be moved to release them.

It took me two goes to get my blades off and replace with the bosh ones. Once I worked out the "latch" it was relatively easy.

I changed mine 3 years ago and then noticed that some parts could be too tight to pull them easily apart. Due to not only the dust but the design as well (small square part in a same size gap).
So then a I decided to pour some water next time (~2013?) to turn dust into "mud" or so for increasing sliding of that parts...

Push the two grips together and push the end cover piece along the wiper and off.
Should shift about 5mm along.
Then pop the clip from under the longer cover piece and you should get that off pretty easy.

All thats left then is the uclip+wiper.... unlatch and slide off.

I went to my local car parts shop cos my blades where ****ed I said to the guy I've never had the blade type wipers so can you fit them no problem mate he said nice one free of charge great sorry mate they won't come off bar steward I thought screw driver (flat) down side of clip and it poped off and if you break clip you don't need it with the bosh replacement as they sell it as a kit to replace them

i can pop the cap off . and i replaced it with michillen aero blades ones now it wont come off because the little tab is too flexible so i cannot get leverage to un clip it

Thanks guys - will give it another go. I have had them off in the past when they were new-ish so its just the time/age/dirt issue. (My SEAT blades come off nice and easy!!)

I was considering levering them off as well as I can see the cover comes with the Bosch blades - just a bit concerned when I saw someone on here who needed to purchase some clips he'd broken and they cost nearly as much as the blades.

Unfortunately I couldn't get to my local dealer so bought mail order

Must confess I waish I'd bought OEM as they lasted so long - originally thought BOSCH was OEM

I eventually got round to replacing my Bosch wipers with OEM ones today that I got from dealers. Does the cover for the Bosch ones just get tossed away now? It looks weird on the OEM without a cover but the Bosch one obviously doesn't fit. Should there be OEM covers?

Oh, and it was a pain in the ass to get the blades off, so stiff! Really had to pull at it and was worried I was gonna break something. But I guess it's okay once you know what way you're doing it for next time.

Absolutely same to me without real operation (due to lack of rain here).
