I am pleased to announce that as from this coming weekend and for the rest of the 2013 BTCC calendar, 5 rounds, 15 races, we will be having an involvement with a pretty well know car.

We have been approached following on from our success's at other events and affiliation with Honda's over the years and the team behind getting the car on the line are very keen to have us involved not only at the events but also with long term projects which may well mean parts and products becoming available to end users which in the past has been exclusive to the race teams.

The car in question that we are involved with is Gordon Shedden's old S2000 FN2 shaped car which with Matt Neal won the drivers and team awards when it last competed in 2011.
It has had several upgrades and during testing last week Matt said it felt better than it used to when he raced it so we have high hopes.

The car is being driven by James Kaye who has a long history of driving for Honda and being run by the AMD team which have been running the S2000 Golf for previous years and had several wins this year already under his belt in 2013.

This is a major step for us as all the work and effort we have put into building TDi North up, the effort and dedication shown by the lads to create some fantastic cars which regularly get featured in magazines and are stars of shows as well as competing often at very high levels and picking up wins has been recognised as what is for us building road going cars that regular customers can relate to at the highest level.

Massive thanks to Andy Barnes at Kleers who sponsor the car, Shaun Hollamby at AMD and James Kaye for having faith.

Superb news and much deserved :) You guys have constantly pushed the boundaries and not been afraid to experiment (unlike many tuners who just sell bolt-ons and tread the well worn path of tuning with no imagination or creativity). Well done guys!!!

:hmmmm: still gonna do time attack ?
Are you still gonna have time to look after your customers like you do now ?
Must be a big commitment.

Im 50% happy at the exciting news..... but 50% sad thinking how involved you may get in motorsport.

I can't see anything changing certainly in the immediate future.
We will be more focused on new development projects and possibly new cars but working alongside what we already do and know well.

Might need a bigger unit and another Ben and Neil though.
We are already rammed out solid for next 5 week's and not a free Saturday until end of October. This commitment now at events just takes a few weekends out the calender and one of them.unfortunately clashes with the last round of TA which will Will be attending.

It's all fantastic news potentially for everyone in the long term. ;)

Awesome weekend as guests of Kleers, AMD and James Kaye.
Car ran really well through practice and qualification Saturday as James got to grips with it but unfortunately 2 real bizarre faults messed up the day's racing on Sunday.

A blown turbo in race one with total loss of boost that the Neil Brown lads said they only ever seen once before on one of the Pirtek cars with the Garrett turbos normally being very reliable, then in race 2 lost the power steering but struggled on to finish.
Re-cycling power restored the PS and no faults were found only for it to fail on the grid for race 3. Another bizarre fault that even with that system being factory standard, TD hadn't seen that before and in our 10 years of working with them never had that.

Never mind. Good learning done, more seat time for James and haters must have had their voodoo dolls out in force!

Comment of weekend was Neil when we knew car was pushed back for start of R3 when he whispered to me "I'd still go out with no power steering boss,"

All in all a great weekend. Few deals done and an exciting new project to start.

Can't wait for Knockhill now.

Some of the atmosphere of the preparation for the start of a BTCC race captured on video as we headed to the grid.
