Our 2013 campaign started yesterday with the first round at Cadwell Park.

We finished off the car late Saturday getting it stripped out, the new Whiteline rollbars fitted, brakes sorted and our Stage 1 camshafts back in and straight onto the trailer.

We are currently running 10bhp less than the first round this year but overall ran 0.5 seconds quicker with further engine development being carried out for the next round to up the power

We ended the day qualified 1st finished 2nd and Umar in the RX7 won his RWD class so a pretty good start for us in what is the circuit that suits our setup least due to all the weight we are carrying which doesn't help out of the slow corners.

More pictures and details to follow.

Massive thanks to our sponsors, Polybush, Competition Clutch Whiteline and Stoptech for helping us out this year.

There will be lots of updates on our progress plus more work to go on the car throughout the year but above all, this is "Still" my roadcar with the only weight reduction being the removal of the OEM seats for some lightweight race seats. What we do with our car you can do with yours ....... and still take the kids to school on Monday and the supermarket run. ;)

Good to see it cocking its rear leg ;)
That ARB must be nice and stiff.
Noticed a big difference with the new setup/ balance ?

It feels just so stable under braking and through the corners.
Was always pretty good and be interesting to see how things progress with more open tracks and more room for passing.

We are running the full set.
Steering is so precise we were being held up by pretty much everything under braking and cornering as it carried so much speed.

Remember we are running the full Polybush kit and Wavetrac which is working also when not loaded unlike a few other diffs available.

What manifold are you using? And i guess you're running your 3" system? Any other mods??

Standard with lots of stickers ftw. ;)

Toda manifold our 3" exhaust.
Mugen intake, Skunk2 TB, RRC, ported and flowed head matched to manifolds. Our cams, FD2 pistons and oil pump kit. Those are pretty much the power mods.

Nice!!! Nothing too drastic or crazy. :)

Stickers add 10-15bhp might even reduce the drag on the car.

No really congrates for such great results already.

Thanks. :)

There is some pretty comprehensive details on the car and setup posted up here as well as several magazine features on it. Nothing secret or 1 off on it and eveything is available off the shelf.

Be interested to know what the car is weighing in at and what Power you were running.

Do you think flat out pace is your main issue now? i.e. would a lot more power make the difference as you seem happy with the handling/braking.

You know why I'm asking this I know :D

Your theoretical best is 1.46 and the pro leaders are at 1.26

Now slicks will be worth a fair bit (probably 3 seconds) and I would think a sequential box a couple of seconds, so perhaps in the low 1:40s - but that's still a way off, which can only leave power.

I don't think you will ever get an FN2 to that front pace, but mid 1:30s should be doable around Cadwell if it has enough power and a light enough weight. Would think circa 300bhp and 1100kgs would do it, with slicks and a sequential.

What do you think Paul? Emphasis has to be on carry speed as you say as traction will always be an issue in an FWD
