Hi, just wanted to say I also have a 2007 1.4 dsi Civic with the same exact problem.. also cleaned the EGR valve and checked the spark plugs. The issue still remains and it got to a point where the engine is stuttering quite often, especially when accelerating up a hill, or just after a shift to a different gear.. Right now im quite desperate as to what to do so please if you make some progress dont forget to give an update:)

Fitted the new filter today, although unfortunately the car won't start, so I'll tackle that tomorrow when it's less wet and a bit brighter. In the mean time, if anyone has any tips for getting my car to start please feel more than welcome to let me know 😁.

Tip for the fuel filter change however; When trying to put the filter back in, I had to lube the seal ring with silicone lube and push it into the hole before I put the ring cap on, feeding the flange into the hole, otherwise it wouldn't compress enough for the ring cap to bite the threads.

Will update @peter_voly asap
sheesh bro good luck

Yeah bro nice info, I actually read somewhere that changing the gearbox fluid did some help too, and Im thinking of trying it since lately I noticed that the stuttering happens most of the times right after a gear change. Im not super knowledgable about cars, but since sometimes shifting to the 1st gear is pretty hard, I think it might be of use, just throwing these thoughts out there. Also curious about that egr valve change tho.. I read that in some cases that was the thing, also read something about oem coils.. Who knows man.

yo I just also tried unplugging the EGR and the stuttering is still there :) think I might also try and just replace the spark plugs even though they seemed totally ok when checked out, like what else could it be then..

ok so I finally got a chance to show it to my one reliable mechanic while the stuttering occured, which was lucky coz sometimes it goes for few hours without stuttering, and I got a date for February 14th when he will properly check it out and try to find the problem. He's good with electronics and doesn't think its the spark plugs after witnessing it. thinks its gotta be some wire or some piece of electronic and will check it properly then. :)

HEYA FOLKS! GOOD UPDATE! So my mechanic just called me he found the culprit and says the car is good! Just as he thought it was a cable that was old and scratched which made the whole engine go off and certain rpm. He test drove it 2 times up a steep hill and says the stuttering is gone. I'm gonna pick up the car tomorrow after which I should have more details and photos I guess so I will post then. But for now thats it, took a few days since he doesnt work friday-sunday.

Hi, im so sorry to not comment sooner, but Im a lazy bitch. Anyway, I test drove the car only yesterday myself and I can say that the problem is 100% gone. The car is fantastic now. ooooh yeeeh. On the photos you can see what was wrong. Not sure if i translate well, but it should be this cable that goes to the crank sensor. My mechanic says the cable was kind of scratched close to the connector at the bottom, so that at certain rpm it was shutting the engine off (im not a mech so just trying to repeat what he said)anyway, look at the pictures below I highlighted where he showed me was the problem. He says he replaced the whole cable pretty much. So good luck to you guys, wish you the best
