well as some of you are aware, a recent scam left a few of us short on dollar and short on seeker fins.

therefore i have decided, sod it im making my own. From scratch.

parts arrived the other day, removed the rear spoiler and im polishing it 35 times on and off with mold release wax right now.

also bought some of them crazy bright reverse leds.

:D

i will post updates as we go

Great stuff. If you succeed and sell these it will be a massive middle finger to that scam-artist.
yeah I would like to make a couple, give one to leepie as i know he ordered one too. I reckon the first one will be a pretty crude one but thats to be expected.

Youre going to need a little more Fibre Glass CK ;)
Lol Im hoping to make it a bit more proffesional than that.

Ps the bananas are for the "wings" of the fin

small update, now polished the spoiler 15 times, only 15 more to go.

Its hard work.

Ok, the spoiler has now been polished roughly thirty times.

I lost count at about 25

the photo doesnt show it but mold release wax gives it an unbelievable shine. Its like a mirror!!

might do the whole car in it one day :D

much cheaper than all that fancy stuff you cleaning bummers use lol.

anyway its all masked up and ready for a layer of gelcoat.

going to sleep now. my head is spinning from the fumes

Your going to be a busy boy this week :)

you aint joking, im working everyday away from home, the spoiler is propped up in my hotel room which stinks of gelcoat, MRW, resin and fibreglass.

I will be doing this mostly after work late and on any breaks i get.

hardcore lol

small update, first layer is on, bit rough and ready but thats ok, I just want to practice, next week i will start again properly.

dont worry about the rough edges, these can be sanded or trimmed off with a disc cutter afterwards. the main thing is to get the conformity and structure correct, making sure the fibreglass and resin mixture sets up properly and isnt too brittle or soft.

made the rooky mistake of thinking white spirit would be suitable to clean brushes in. now i have two wooden handles with solid plastic ends lol. need to get some acetone tomorrow.
