Don’t cause small cracks in your centre light cluster when removing H badge like I did. Bloody thing still grates on me as it draws my eyes to it.😡

Yeah, I'll probably warm it gently with a hair drier and use the dental floss technique. Hopefully it'll come off fairly cleanly.

Be really careful with the rear, as @Hemingway1975 said, they crack even with heat, be super gentle with any flexing.

Hmm, sounds like pouring a jug of warm water over the area may be a better way of softening the sticky pad. I'll think I'll do the front one first to see what I'm dealing with.

Front ones fine, but I used heat gun at front of all things as other half would let me use her hair dryer, yeah I slightly melted the grill but can’t tell.
The rear I removed and look fine and dandy. Then used Some glue remover and it seeped in to around 4-5 hair line crack, I was like wtf.

Fitted the forum favourite Mercedes boot struts this afternoon and now the tailgate will lift itself, definitely harder to shut though, but better than worrying it'll start shutting itself when I want it to stay open.

Fitted the forum favourite Mercedes boot struts this afternoon and now the tailgate will lift itself, definitely harder to shut though, but better than worrying it'll start shutting itself when I want it to stay open.

I've lost count of the amount of times I've crowned myself with the boot lid! It doesn't help when you're bald so you've got no cushioning!!! 😱😱😱

I haven't done it yet but the new weather strip for the top of the windscreen arrived as there's a big gap in the existing one.

Just wondering as I can't find anything concrete in the search, is it simply pull out and replace?

I'm going to lift the roof rails to ensure the strip sits tidy underneath.

I only have about an hour tomorrow to get it done so if it's a bitch of a job I'll put it off until I have more time.

I did this and found that the new one did not sit well.
Obviously had a new screen at some point and the excess sealer was stopping it from going it straight.
Had to trim one side of the groove that fits the screen edge in several places to get it to lie flat, still got a few bumps but nothing too bad.
Yes lift the roof rails with a trim tool and tuck the ends under it.

Cost me more than sore fingers.
As I was leaning over the car to get the seal in I didn't realise I was putting a series of dents in the bodywork over the drivers door. A visit to Dent Devils and £200 later you wouldn't know.

Only just seen this, I used WD40 to lubricate it, went it sooooo much easier, I had a new one a few months back, had to take it out to wrap the roof a couple weeks ago.

Illuminated Sill Plate covers arrived today. China wins again, £270 saved on Honda Stealer prices and the rears illuminate where Honda's own ones don't. I was initially put off buying these due to what i thought was a protracted fitting proceddure after looking at the PDF on the Honda accessory site. But I found a youtube tutorial and they were ridiculously easy. Only tools required were a Philips screwdriver to remove the glove box surround. If this took longer that 45 minutes to do it was not even 1 hour. It wasn't very warm today so brake cleaner to clean the sills and the wife's hairdryer to heat the sills worked a treat. Still time to drop some hints to the wife for Xmas. I highly recommend these, they look great, I really cant not see any different to the Honda ones, fitment is perfect.

Went to change the stupid LED front side indicators, once I managed to squeeze my hand into the gap I was shocked and surprised to see that a previous owner had REWIRED LED BULBS INTO THE CIRCUIT Which means I can't just replace them with non hyper flashing halogens... Might be forced to replace the side indicators with something brighter now, seems to be some nice drop in off the shelf replacements that others have done.

My LED indicators arrived...

They are these FOR HONDA CIVIC 05-12 SET OF 2 WING MIRROR LED INDICATOR LIGHT REPEATER PAIR | eBay

A bit more expensive that the cheapest Chinese LED smoked ones, these are made in Poland and appear to be a copy of the OEM Honda ones. Even the light pattern is exactly the same but just a bit brighter.

Amusingly it's fixed my front side indicator hyper flash issue as those LED seem to have slowed themselves down now...
