Maybe was an itch I needed to scratch
But change of work and family situation
Barely driving, and Mrs having auto only licence swayed me to sell up

I did look at automatic options like a GT86 and similar but truth be told I've reached a point I've become bored of driving

Got the last footage and the Videos about to go live. Follow up from the vibrant exhaust resonator

Video documentation of eliminating drone on a TDI 3” exhaust.
Never going to be a quiet exhaust, but the drone inside the car before was brutal with the Solidfabs manifold. I ended up putting the OEM manifold and cat back on which was a bit quieter but still droned between 3000 and 3900rpm, found myself driving above 4000rpm most of the time (5th gear only on the motorways/dual carriageways).
It's actually sounds great now there's not much drone due to the Vibrant muffler, and strangely it's even quieter when the window is down.
I wasn't sure if the decibels would be lower and I know you can't record drone on video, you just have to experience it.
Cold start isn't that bad on mine as I've turned down the rpms to 1300 instead of the standard 1800 (keep the neighbours happy)
Only downside now the Solidfabs manifold is back on I'm getting a bit of carbon on the bumper trim, but I can live with that, but I think you did the right thing with having it stick out the bumper 😁

Your guideline advice has really helped me solve this issue dude, major thanks there.
Apparently poking the exhaust also reduces reverberated sound too. I’m super happy with the outcome

I can understand that. When my Alfa goes (which will likely be this year) I'll pack it in for performance cars. I don't do much recreational driving anymore and I'm just after a comfortable car to lug the family around in. Next car will be a CRV or maybe an Insigna if I'm skint :ROFLMAO:

Trying to pluck up the willpower to fit my spacers.
juts found the torque settings in here from a decade ago, Stoney said 108NM spacer to hub and 80NM Wheel to spacer 👍👍

I said I’d never fit these damn things, but having put stock springs back on the wheels seriously sunk in the arch. Hopefully these Tegiwa ones are decent

I have these on mine. Straight bolt on, no messing with any extra bolt sizes👍👍, well I have done them 110nm wheel to spacers, don’t know why the torque would drop around 30% as you still loading onto the flat face.

FN2 had a lunchtime visit to the jetwash for a hot shampoo to dissolve all the salt it's collected. Body, arse end, along the sills and whatever I could get at through the alloys. Can't believe they wanna keep putting more down - the roads are slick with the stuff.
Up here the same. Overnight low of 6 degrees and they are out there gritting, grips my **** so it does.

I’ll keep an eye on them but was told they strip easy. May crank them up if you say they are fine?

Got the spacers on today, really impressed.
I did my thoughts and a YouTube full review dropping at 19:00 for anyone interested in my experience.

Tegiwa Spacers fitted to the rocket ship. Review and thoughts whilst driving for the first time
These are well made and

I haven’t had any issues so far and had wheels of a few times. They have also weathered well, no discolouration or rusting.

I did the same with my Tegiwa ones, this is the rears after two years on the car, brown on them is copper grease.

Cheers for sharing, found it fascinating. I've actually wondered what drone level Dynodazes exhaust has. Not running anything like you but previously ran a teg 421 with custom decat back, single exit, nearly deafened me but did sound amazing, drone on my commute drove me mad. Now running Piper 421 with 200 cel, and a cobra system with resonator. No motorway drone at all. More restrictive. Going to refit OEM centre and rear section to see what the difference is.

The big exhaust was originally built for Tdi North and was only designed to not exceed the decibel limits on certain tracks, which it does. Drone was probably overlooked as you wear a crash helmet and will rarely be below 4000rpm on the track.
