yes Ed, last year was my first time, I travelled independantly it worked out a lot cheaper, off the top of my head camping was 50 euros, track ticket 65 euros both for the week, euro tunnel 150ish tank of juice eachway 120 quid ish £1000 for drink and food. French venues are really good, they allow bbq's, bonfires, all of which I did'nt know at the time. Theres usualy a gig in the evening, last year Razorlight headed the bill on the saturday night. I was in beausejour in the middle of the circuit near the Porsche curves, it really is awesome being surrounded by the noise for the 24 hrs, really cant recomend it enough.

What would you call a realistic budget?
Just trying to work out of this is viable.

about £400 for travel and tickets etc. There are food 'tents' that are quite dear, local cafes where you can get plait de jour(4 course menu of the day) for arround 10-20 euros, or the best bet would be to bbq so it really depends how you want to eat and how long you stay. As a real guess i would say about £20 a day on food + drinks so arround £500 all in if you arrive wednesday or thursday. One thing I would say is that if you want all the civinfo cars to be together you would have to book an area just for us, as they place you on your pitch as you arrive first come first served style, or all arive at the same time.

This is based on one person per car, but I think the camping goes up for extra people, not a lot though

Just to add to this. TBH I dont know about prices as I just pay for it when I am there, well I give my Mrs a wad of cash and I will stay with the car while she gets the tickets.

I normally get through a tank and a half to get down to Lemans, that’s from London.

Camping is per site. We always get another pitch so there is enough room. If there are 8 to 10 of us we will get 6 pitches. Most of the lads sleep in the campers or vans.

Try to take a bike or scooter to get about.

Food is expensive, but there are a few supermarkets close by. A fresh loaf bread, cheese, ham, salad bits is good for the day and cost peanuts. A nice steak on the BBQ at night.

Hi Saracen. I live in northern France & go back and forth to UK quite a lot. For info you can get 10 Eurotunnel tickets (must be person who bought tickets who travels each time) for 390 GBP to be used up over a year (5 return trips to Lille(come visit me!)/Paris(Vive La France!)/Le Mans(vrooOOOOm)...), so that's only 78 GBP to budget for for a return trip, not 150 quid.... in case you go with anyone who may like to take up that plan of action... Divided by 4 in a car, that's piddleysquit ! :D

You'll have to wait a bit for me to join the Civic club then - I'm 'only' a "likkle" Jazz at the mo... Luvin' it though - magic seats ROCK! - but would like Honda to make a 1.8 Jazz ! Or even better a diesel !
So I'm looking out for LHD (bien sur!) Civic good deal... luckily I'm a patient chick !
