just bought a civic 2.2cdti 2007

however i have had vw's and never a honda diesel so not sure if this is a problem.

when i drive the car i near the turbo whistle and a vaccume noise like a leaking pipe and there is a significant turbo lag before the car takes off, i have taken it to the dealer who has checked the pipes and done a diagnostics and could not find any problems, he did say the turbo was a little loud but nothing to worry about.

i am just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem.

You can sometimes here a bit of a hiss 1500-2000rpm from the airbox in the engine bay.
Thats normal.

There bungs in the firewall that can be removed or pop out.
That makes everything in the engine bay louder.
Impossible to give an opinion without being there.

normal as far as i can tell. (mine does same) but i don't have any lag.

Same for me really - I notice it to be a bit laggy at low revs in 4th+ but no more so than any other diesel really. Can hear a bit of turbo noise on mine but it's drowned out by the aux belt / pulley whine that these seem to develop at lower speed
