Hello,

As you know the standard head unit has a max of 40/40, i installed a hertz 250watt kit with 2 speakers and 2 tweeters but depending on the song, the tweeters start to crack starting from minimum 24/40 until offcourse 40/40 and it seems as if i see electrical activity when i look at them when i hear them cracking.

Is this because i need an amplifier for the 250watt or are my tweeters bugged? I already have treble on -6

You could well damage those nice speakers with the feeble output of the OEM HU.

To be honest, I would avoid turning the volume up that high with them.

Either listen at lower volumes or invest in some decent amplification to drive the Hertz components at higher levels.

I really want to make sure that this is the problem before I order an amplifier. Can anybody else confirm?
