Good Morning all! This is my first post and require some advice.

I purchased a Honda Civic Type R (2008) recently and noticed that the bumper was not sitting correct under the grille i.e. sticks out from grille approx. 8-10mm from actual correct positioning (pics to follow). I thought I would have this rectified as the car was going to Honda anyway so £45 later and all I get told that they couldn’t resolve the problem as when they adjusted the bumper by the grille the section nearest to the offside headlamp pops out.
I have received a quote for their recommendation this morning stating that they believe it would be beneficial to purchase the following parts to rectify the issue.

Bumper upper section painted = £ 141.08 inc VAT
Headlamp doglegs = £35.06 for both inc VAT
Central grille base = £192.98 inc VAT
Labour to remove and refit = £163.20 inc VAT
In total including parts labour and VAT the job to replace all that is - £532.32 all inc.

Has anyone had a similar problem and agree with this analysis? I would like have this resolved as I notice it every time I look at the car so frustrating, but do not want to end up with spare parts and a large bill for nothing. The parts come colour coded but is this a reasonable match or a respray required to blend in?
I was also looking into having a front respray and was quoted £660Incl VAT. Does this sound reasonable to have bonnet and wings blended in. I was going to go to a friend to compare but again would like your advice and recommendations.

Appreciate your help and guidance on this matter!

I have the same issue on mine. I think the previous owner has had the front off to possibly have a front splitter fitted then removed it again to sell it off.

I will be taking it off to fit a gp front splitter in a couple of weeks and will see how i get on. I am hoping i can fit it back better than it is just now. May just need some clips as some maybe missing or damaged from the previous owners work so I would take it to a body shop rather than honda. A professional body specialist will know better.

Post on here where you are located and ask for recommendations for body repairs in your area mate. Thats what id do.

Had my bumper off quite a few times now for various bits and bobs but never had this issue appear, my suspicion would be that the brackets for the bumper under the headlight have been bent forwards due to some previous heavy-handedness.

I don't know about the bumper but, £660 notes for a bonnet and wing blend paint job! That's a rip off buddy! More like £300-£350 for that job.

Bumper is very easy to remove, i have the same issue the gap between the headlight and bumper is bigger on one side and have an 8mm gap. think the upper brackets are bent. Tried to bend them back but did not work. Lings honda have the brackets on stock for £17 each and the are just held in by two bolts so i may just buy and replace the bent ones

Any updates on this? I have the same issue and have tried several times to bend the brackets straight with no success. Sometimes it seems to be ok and then it pops out as soon as I drive a bit.
I've just learned to live with it now.
