Ok this is now the 4th problem im having with my type r. this has been a very fun 3months of ownership.

i was parked on a bit of a hill the other day and there was a puddle under the car and some liquid running down the tarmac. it was a busy car park and stared under car a couple of mins and saw no dripping. so thougth great it was someone elses can but not ive seen a puddle on my driveway.

i dont think it wa oil as it seemed a bit thin. but i *** be wrong.

tried checking the coolant to see if its gone down (how the hell im ment to see that ill never no) plus the manual is no good as it shows the cooland bottle on the left hand side of engine bay and it actualy on the right.

so any ideas on this? im getting rearly peed off with this car already.
its not been over heating even tho its been rearly hot the last few days.

please help again?

thanks graham

Try the liquid that's left under the car, it should be water with no smell and should not be oily. When air con is working strong it builds up much more water that has condensated so has to get rid of it somewhere and it has a pipe to drain it under the car. I'd be worried if it does not drain 'cause that would mean that the pipe is blocked and water will fill up the pipe and drain in the cabin because it has no other way out.

Same happened to me, after a mth of owning it had a long puddle looked under and had dripping I even put a tub underneath overnight. Bit of Google here and there found out it was condensation from the air con, so I wouldn't worry I was told blue liquid is coolant, clear is water, oil is oil, and I can't remember the other colours for other fluids.

As others have said, condensation.

Climate Control - Civinfo Wiki

Puddle of water under the car

This comes up all the time! The aircon has 2 functions - to cool the air and to remove the water. The water removal is why you should leave the aircon on in the winter, to stop the inside of the windows from misting up.
The water that is removed from the air is discharged through a little pipe to the underside of the car. Sometimes when you park the car, a small puddle of water is left from this tube on the ground, and is quite normal.

Well what can I say that hasn't already? I'm pretty sure you can take it that there's nothing wrong with your car, every car I've had with air-con does exactly the same. ;-)

I would never ever would have come to that conclusion.
My last car a Volvo the air con packed it.
The 1 before a focus the sitcom barely got cold.
But It works in the type r.

So relieved thanks for all the replys.
I'm back to only 3 faults now.

my GF panicked after a 250 mile journey in the blazing sun, seeing a damp patch as we parked. I told her it was the drivers side urine flush system, "how do you think I lasted so long with out a comfort break?". She almost believed me. "These Honda's are really well equipped" she said.....
