Hey guys! About the oil level sensor.. The oil level lamp notification keeps turning on every now and then, but i've checked the oil level and its fine. Could that be sensor failure? Anyone had/has same problem?

The FN2 does have an oil level sensor. I can confirm that from personal experience. It triggers when about a litre of oil has been used. For emisus, are you checking the oil as recommended when the engine is warm, on a flat surface and left standing for a few minutes. If it's a faulty sensor you may need to perform an oil change as IIRC the sensor is in the sump.

I used to have the same problem for a few months until the oil was changed, then it sorted itself out. I kept checking manually (following the instructions) and it was always fine so eventually stopped worrying about it

Honda advised me to check my oil at every fill up due to the K20 being capable of burning up to 1 litre of oil every 680 miles

mine burns knowhere near that ive done 1 litre in 4000 miles although i did have a panick attack when the oil light flickered and i missred the dipstick thinking it was empty:) glad i double checked before putting oil in or i would of put to much

My oil warning has NEVER come on, even though on occasion the oil has reached the bottom mark of the dipstick.

Do i need a new sensor?

how much are they? sump off job?

Sorry I haven't got a clue but if it makes you feel better, when the oil reaches the bottom of the dip stick there is still 3 litres of oil in the engine. I was told this by my Honda dealer after I thought mine had run out of oil.

Had an oil level sensor changed under warranty after it kept coming on after a service. Now NO DIFFERENT. It brings up the check oil level after about 7/8 minutes from cold on the motorway to work. Its doesnt always happen but always with this cenario! Town driving it doesnt happen. Honda main dealer seem to thing it may be a programming bug? Apparently there was a ECU firmware upgrade on the Diesels to fix this. The only way to 'fix' this is to keep the oil level at the top mark - not half way as the dealer had left it.:roll:

My problem is same as brettypeR's.. The oil was changed 3k miles ago, and yes i check the oil level regularly on flat surface.. but with warm engine? i do it with cold engine.. will check it on warm as well... i still think it has to be somekind of sensor failure couse the oil level is on top of dip stick
