Why on earth is the 2.2 Type S GT 200 quid more to insure than the 5 door? It's the same car, minus 2 doors and a few door sills.
What a joke.

If this is the case how come we insure a ctr for around 10% less than a crz and its the same company (aviva)This is because it is classed as a 'sportier' model, 5 doors are seen as sensibe family cars so are less likely to get abused, also the type s gt is lowered 15mm as standard compared to the 5 doors and has a wider rear track for better stability. This is all taken into account by the insurers so unfortunately for a sportier look you have to pay a higher premium, it sucks really as the engines are the same in all diesels
