Since our youngest daughter "stole" our FRV, there was an empty spot on my driveway :)

A long time I wanted an Accord, but for practical reasons I choose CRV...
So now they stopped the Accord for Europe, It was now or never.
And I needed a more sporty drive, next to the CRV. And since we only drive the S2000 with the top down, It stays inside A LOT.

Found a 1 year old Type S with all the toys, NAVI and CMBS package
24000km, a car "used" by Honda Germany. It was never registered to a private person.
Took a 1000km train trip to the north of Germany... and there is was waiting for me. The good thing is I could drive the Accord back home for 1000km.. and on the German no limit highway....:)

Some picts

Nice one. Just looking at your signature, you are a Honda family through and through!!

My Honda history comprises:-
a 1973 C50, owned 1981-1982,
a 2010 Civic Si bought new, and owned until April 2015
a 2015 Civic Tourer I-DTEC bought new April 2015.

I have still got some way to go.....

Enjoy your Accord.

Seems to me, we should post a new thread for "Honda History" to give Honda owners the opportunity to list all Hondas they have owned with a one-liner for each vehicle...

My uncle bought a new Honda Accord in 1977, as I remember, and it was fairly new to the UK as a new model. Quite luxurious in 1977 with its crushed velour upholstery, at a time when Ford were using what seemed like sackcloth by comparison. ..

No sorry, the diesel economy and torque are my thing. Stupid thing is that diesel has only 1 exhoust.
If you drive it normal, the car goes easy below 6l/100km.
So strange my S2000 has 8000 rpm useful range
The Accord has 3000 rpm....
I think I have the 2 most different engines in my garage :)

I actually prefer the power delivery of a diesel under 'normal' driving conditions.
Indeed, strange thing is that 180hp Accord, the engine starts to work above 2000rpm ( just like all the Idtec )

The old FRV iCtdi starts from 1000 rpm ( just like 06 civic did and 05 Crv we had)

The 180 S engine has a bigger turbo than other Honda diesels (and a stronger clutch)

Nice one Stef!!

How does the 180ps compare to the 150ps?
My CRV is auto gear, so I can only compare with other Accord 150hp and CRV I test drove.
Like expected it is very "torquey" very nice to have the spare power.
It feels like the 6gen Civic I had, except the suspension is realy perfect.
The civic was jumping over the road, the Accord with this sport suspension is very stable, even on lesser roads. Just read the excelent Potsy review in this section, meantime Honda did make some small changes, but the review is about right. Nice also that the mainland version has leather/felt seats, prefer this over full leather.

Nice one do like the accords shame that honda have stopped making them:-(
Indeed, the roads here are stuffed with Audi, BMW and Mercs.
Nothing wrong with this, but the Accord still looks very good after 6 years.
Real shame Honda gave up after about 40 year Accords.

Very nice Stef. I had an Accord Tourer for a while. Loved the car and a great drive but just a little bit too small load-space wise for our needs; hence the move to the CRV. The Accord looks very good in white.

Also the reason I did not go for the tourer, since we have the CRV.
I do like the looks of the tourer more, but then the saloon looks more sporty.
Honda should put the 180hp in the CRV, could be the best of both worlds...
But then the higher gravity point will never return a ride like the Accord.
Honda should bring the US Crosstour...

Oh, if Honda did put the 160hp in the Civic tourer, I might have been tempted...
But it simply does not look good IMO

I am following Honda (and never had an other car! ) for over 40 years! (19 cars, 8 motorcycles, 1 land mower)
I think to be entitled to have an opinion, I am paying for it.
The 9G does not sell, everybody knows why.
The 8G was 10y ahead, there was no need to change, just make some suspension improvements and a "bit" of a face lift.

What Honda needs:
Looks of 8G (inside and out) + drive of 9G + 140-160hp Diesel.
They have al the parts, just need some assembly :p
I am not sure where the designers of the 8G are, I think they went to Toyota

And now they messed up the Jazz too
So what is left? only the CRV
But then, they stole the front of the Kia and the rear of the Volvo.
(Yes now I will go and wash my mouth :( )
