The tyre gunk has a best before date of about 4 years after the car was manufactured.

So if you have an 06 or 07 car and no spare wheel, then it is time to change the bottle. :(

Honda in Sweden are currently doing a promotion of 99 SEK (£10) instead of the RRP of around 600 SEK (£60).

I have understood that space saver spare tyres are made of a different compound that doesn't age as quickly. I could be wrong though.

Either way, you won't drive far or fast on a space saver I suppose, but I would not want old rubber on my normal tyres.

The tyre gunk is absolutely useless.

Seriously, buy a spare. One and only time I tried to use it, didn't work at all, and I had to limp 5miles home. Luckily the tyre was already ruined, so it didn't really matter.

I now have a spacesaver occupying my magic boot floor. Worth every penny.
